Turnigy 9x Frsky DHT telemetryConversion?

Postby ProLine » Thu Mar 10, 2011 4:12 pm

Bruce did an excellent job on utube showing how to modify a Turnigy 9X TX with a Frsky DIY pack. I've got a Turnigy 9X on backorder from HK and just realized that the video upgrade has no telemetry. From what I can tell, I need a DHT DIY kit for that. Does anyone have a source for a DHT kit that I can order? I live in the US. IS it possible to do the mod with a JR Frsky module that can be broken down to fit, or made to plug in? I have the knowledge, but I don't want to purchase a lot of R&D parts if its been done already. Remoteing the leds and ports ann switches is the challenge. Best option is to purchase the DHT Kit and watch Bruce's video.

Update,
I emailed Eva at Frsky asking about where I could but a DHT DIY kit as HK does not list it. She returned my email right away saying to try Himodel. I did and everything I needed was in stock and is being processed for dhl shipping. Thank you Eva!
I'll use Bruce's utube video for the instalation when I get the 9x from HK. It's on backorder.

Another update FYI
Eva confirmed that the DHT DIY has the diode mod in it. I have no way to test for it so I'm going ahead with my plans. I'm waiting for my 9X to be in stock and shipped from HK.
Anyone that has done the 9X and DHT mod please post your success and any issus. Mounting the dip switches will take the most work to make it look nice. Anyone come up with a vibrator mod like the DX8? Of course a voice option is the way to go. How's that going Bruce, others? I'm not able to design my own yet.
