New forum

Chew the fat on any non-RC subject. It's a free-for-all but common rules of decency do apply so act like adults and don't embarrass yourself by trolling or cuss'n.

It's nice to know my vids are useful and enjoyed.

I've never had any real issues with HK -- I just keep an eye on them and their products, highlighting those which are of concern and those which appear to be good.

It would be compromising my objectivity if I were to be aligned with any individual supplier (either for or against) so I treat HK like all others. If they want to send stuff to be reviewed then I'll review it and publish the results here (good or bad) - then give the product away.

Both RCG and RCU have "banned" me in the past for my "outspoken views". As a result, even if I were allowed back, I would not go because I know that as soon as I say something that might get one of the trigger-happy moderators excited, I'd be banned again and the offending (ie: fact-laden) posts would be deleted.

Rather than end up fighting with those moderators and the commercial pressures that RCU/RCG/FG have on them to keep advertisers happy, I figured the best way would be to simply create this website and these forums.

I do drop in from time to time (anonymously) to see what's going on and I must admit that I still get frustrated when I see other people delivering completely *wrong* advice or information about topics they clearly know very little about. I'm hoping that these forums will become widely-enough known that people will consider them as their first-port of call when they have issues that need resolving.

We'll just have to wait and see though -- the other sites have "critical mass" and it'll take a *lot* of work to make inroads into their market.
