Remzibi's OSD FPV Screen Setup - Love it!!!

Postby bmsweb » Sat Sep 17, 2011 6:33 am

Hi Guys, I got my new wide angle lens for the HK Camera and its awesome! The Sony camera from HK is very good but the lens is crap. I put on the new WA lens and the quality is much better again. In any case the reason for this post is I've had a chance to play with the OSD system which I love. It's very customizable and easy to use. Will try it out on the Bixler as soon as the weather comes good. The wind outside is insane . . can't believe the timing.

In any case here it is . . sorry that I'm all over the place with this video as I did it in a hurry since we are going out to visit the wife's friends :( wish me luck!

Thanks for that. It sure looks like a great OSD with nice software, especially for the money.

Btw, what GPS system are you using?
What goes up...better bloody stay up (until I say otherwise).

I'm using the GPS system that came with it. All up I paid $100 for all of it.

Cool! What a bargain.

Btw, the weather is fine here today and it should be in Melbourne too. So get out there with Thomas and make some FPV videos! :D

Good luck with it all if you do.

Also, it's a perfect day for me to maiden my phoenix and axn...but Mrs Sid has buggered off with the car to visit her sister's.

Bastage!

Good luck with the Phoenix Maiden, you'll love it!!

We did try the Bixler today!! The maiden involved a quick trim and then straight to FPV and it was awesome :D Thomas flew FPV for around 8 mins straight and was totally comfortable with it. What a buzz!!

Interestingly I haven't received the connectors for the VTX and RX so I haven't made up the new Antennas as yet. I was flying with the standard antennas as provided by Hobby King and no problems with range at all. The 5.8 200mw worked perfectly. I think getting the Video RX up high like Bruce always says makes the world of difference. We tried to say in visual range but as it was our first flight but it was so easy to fly too far away. The Bixler first landing was also FPV!! All in all it was great, I think a total of about 20min of FPV and 10min of visual flight.

Oh I did stuff up BIG TIME . . I forgot to press the record button so no video of the flight

Yes that's what I purchased. and also the Cheaper Sony Camera because it had better reviews. You will need to get a WideAngle lens for it and you will love it. Works really well. I am planning on posting the exact lens etc when I get a chance. I got it from an ebay seller.
