Here's an area where you can ask any kind of question about RC models and find a whole lot of useful information to help you get started.

Long Range Tx/Rx

Can anyone recommend a long range tx/rx system.
Basically for super long range FPV.
I've found a few on the Internet, but
Does anyone know anything about these.
Dragonlink
ChainLink, although BevRc seems to be sold out of these.

Be awesome to have a review on these,
Nudge nudge Bruce. :)

Well one of those brands was going to send one for review but I've not seen it yet. I'll chase them along.

Of course it also depends on where you are in the world whether such systems are legal or even practical -- especially if the frequencies they use are allocated to something else that might shoot your model down.

I'm planning some long-range FPV this summer but I'll be using 2.4GHz with a hi-gain antenna.

That's cool Bruce.
So what about Australia and NZ regulations.
We don't really care about the northern hemisphere
