Before disposing of them join the red and the black wires and put in fireproof bucket and watch the display.... That should render them harmless...
If anyone is feeling a bit paranoid....BEHIND YOU....

What you do is connect a Light bulb (car light bulb will do) then once the lipo has lost its residual charge IE Dead, cut the connector off and the submerge Lipo in a salt water solution for 24hrs, then its safe to put out into the garbage
