AXN questions :yes more Axn queries :-)

Hi there, after a few months of bixler/axn indecision.....
I pushed the button & have a AXN on the very slow boat to NZ

Ive downloaded Bruces build vids (much appreciated, thanks) , pretty much bought those recommended parts
Any other updates on AXN builds worth noting??
- glue or tape in the wings ??
- whats the bigger prop that has been mentioned, whats that exact model prop so I can order one ?
- I was told to buy a prop collet/holdeer thingy as the OEM prop/collet/? is a poor fit ?
- any thoughts on strengthening the nose, fibreglass/epoxy it ?? That will be getting squished with my landing style
- a local has mounted a single wheel on his , any thoughts on wheels ?

I was also thinking about attaching 600 Heli skids on it (just the curved tubes) . Very light & dirt cheap, may help protect the nose a bit ??

A local newb did just get a Bixler, it flew nicely . He only had about 15minutes on a small trainer before soloing the Bixler.
I guess big planes are easier

I glued my wings the plane is small and easy to transport
leave the Nose, when it gets bent, just pour some just boiled water over it and it will come back to shape im told, i haven't tried it yet, gotta crash first the Nose is designed to bend and take the impact a bit the hot water trick works well from what I've read

Wheels have been tried and they just create more problems then they are worth

Just make it light get the cg right go high up and keep it close to you then glide a lot
also balance the propeller if you can, its worth it I used a hand one to do mine got it pretty accurate

The prop you want is hk's apc-style 6x4E.They're not always in stock,so I just put a standard 6x4 on,and it seems to work just as well.Don't add fibreglass,too heavy.Just a bit of tape under the front fuse will help curb bottom damage.As for the wheel,I had though of that too.A single wheel let into the bottom,near the CG might be ok.
I've tried taking off from level grass,but all it does is ground loops.

Delivery only took 16 days to NZ !!! on the cheapest freight option.
HK are getting faster .

Looks like it will be a really easy, fast build.
the finish is superb. Must be all the shiney bare white foam. Maybe thats why white T28's look so pretty .
Some of my other planes have a awefull paint finish, making them superficially look really cheap & nasty.
OEM silver paint looks really bad
Good weather for build projects.

You cant get it off its glued on, kinda sucks too because I believe its making most of the Noise of the propeller

Any good idea's about a off the shelf longer aileron pushrod??
I should have checked before gluing in the servos . It only just works, on the mid hole on the aileron horn. Cant use the bottom hole (for more travel)

Any subtrim/up elevator needed for take-off on the 1st flight ??

Get yourself some piano wire the right gauge and some nose pliers and bend up your own, only takes a moment!

for aileron pushrods since i do not have piano wire, what i did was i used a small paper clip. straightened it as best as i could and put a z bend on to it.
